Compensation of Academic Loss Programme (CALP)

In India, CALP initiatives have been particularly important in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused significant disruptions in schooling across the country. Many state governments and educational bodies have launched state-specific CALP programs to help students catch up on missed lessons, especially in the areas of foundational literacy and numeracy.

The Indian government and several educational organizations have also incorporated CALP into various schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM POSHAN) for ensuring holistic development, or the NIPUN Bharat program, which is focused on foundational literacy and numeracy.
